No trip to Sabah is complete without a visit to Kinabalu Park, which is home to Mount Kinabalu; at 4,096m it is the highest mountain in South East Asia

The 2-hour journey by road through the beautiful countryside, along the ridges of the Crocker Range finally brings us to Kinabalu Park.

After registering for the climb, And with our mountain guide leading the way the trek begins to reach the summit by early morning next day.

No special mountaineering skills are required just physical fitness and determination. The trek leads you through the Mountain Forrest, which becomes more and more sparse as you climb to higher levels.

The days trekking ends with a well-earned rest and overnight stay at Laban Rata rest house, which is at an altitude of 3,345m.

The conquest of the summit, Low's Peak begins in the very early hours of the following morning this enables you to witness the unforgettable sunrise from the summit if weather permits.

We then start the trek back, stopping of for late breakfast at Laban Rata, before the final part of the descent back to the park, where successful climbers receive a certificate as proof of their conquest.

Relax over lunch before heading back to Kota Kinabalu in the late afternoon.

Why not incorporate a visit to Poring Hot Springs while you are at Kinabalu National Park. There you can take a dip in one of the open air springs developed by the Japanese during the second world war. And ease away those aches and pains.
